It’s no secret that my birthday was last weekend. My parents were nice enough to get me several gifts. I got a Waterfield Powerbook sleeve, Medal of Honor: Breakthrough, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. You can look forward to a full length review of the bag and a short review of Breakthrough. In the mean time, you can get a review of Breakthrough from Inside Mac Games.
However, I soon discovered to my own displeasure that Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) ran rather poorly on my Dual 1 GHz Powermac G4 with 1.25 GB RAM and Radeon 9000 Pro video card. The very first scene (which is a simple tutorial) stuttered. If the game weren’t turn based, I wouldn’t have been able to play it effectively. The problem only worse when I got to the game’s first cantina. This isn’t a very intense scene (unless you count the moderate amount of people as intense). This Powermac has handled all the other games I’ve played on it (Halo, Medal of Honor series, Call of Duty) expertly. I was so disappointed that I decided to put the game away for a little while and go back to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Seeing as I haven’t written anything meaningful since I started my pseudo vacation last week, I thought I might get right back into the swing of things with something near and dear to my heart: a rant.
It’s no secret that I spend a lot of time posting in and reading forums. Like any public forum, it attracts idiots who feel the need to unload things that are either totally uninteresting or useless. One of the more obnoxious types is the “leaper” as I am going to refer to this type of individual. Much like people who climb to the highest stories of the tallest buildings to stand on the edge and threaten to jump, these morons explain how they’ve come to stand on their very own ledge.
I turned 23 as of midnight (EST). I’m a year older, a year wiser, and a year closer to being able to rent a car (the last major milestone in a person’s life as far as I can figure).
I had a few drinks at a local watering hole, so I’ll be cutting this entry short.
I’ve had it with AOL’s mobile device feature. I come online and I don’t inspect all my buddies to see if they are regular AOL or mobile. Certain users are always forwarding their IMs. I send a message expecting to get back a meaningful message and instead I’m greeted with the standard forwarding response.
Now, that wouldn’t be so bad if I then got back an IM from them while they were on their phone, but most often I get nothing. What’s the point? Is having a phone number not enough? Maybe I’m just getting old.
After struggling with Bloglines rather limited blog interface (which did make linking fairly easy), I’ve decided to give it up and go to del.icio.us to host those links and data. I couldn’t pull the list directly into the main site with direct links to the real things I was linking to. To top it off, they never even responded to my questions about fixing their blogroll publishing (which features completely incorrect structure.
I almost forgot there are games tomorrow.
Indianapolis vs. Detroit Chicago vs. Dallas Tampa Bay vs. Carolina Cleveland vs. Cincinnati Tennessee vs. Houston San Diego vs. Kansas City Jacksonville vs. Minnesota Philadelphia vs. NY Giants Washington vs. Pittsburgh New Orleans vs. Atlanta Baltimore vs. New England NY Jets vs. Arizona Miami vs. San Francisco Buffalo vs. Seattle Oakland vs. Denver St. Louis vs. Green Bay
Call me a terrible person, a monster if you will. I just couldn’t stop once it started.

Katie posted another quiz from the same site as the last. Seeing as the question was “What part of Thanksgiving are you?” and that it’s a mere few days away, I couldn’t resist.
You Are the Stuffing You're complicated and complex, yet all your pieces fit together.
People miss you if you're gone – but they're not sure why. What Part of Thanksgiving Are You?
An online quiz just confirmed what I already knew. Fuck the two parties!
You Are a “Don't Tread On Me” Libertarian You distrust the government, are fiercely independent, and don't belong in either party.
Religion and politics should never mix, in your opinion… and you feel opressed by both.
You don't want the government to cramp your self made style. Or anyone else's for that matter. You're proud to say that you're pro-choice on absolutely everything! What political persuasion are you?
