Football Time Again

All right guys, Fall is fast approaching and you know what that means. It’s time for football. Last year we all had a lot of fun (though I barely summarized each week’s results and that’s likely to be worse this year). Without further ado, here is the info to join up. Go to Yahoo’s Football Pick’em page. You’ll need a Yahoo! account. Once there, choose to join a private group. Group ID: 31839 ...

Football Picks Week 1

So I’m currently 4 out of 5 and Henry forgot to pick confidence so he didn’t get any points (Henry, if you’re reading this, fix it before this weekend). smudie (101) Katie (89) Mike (85) Me (81) Henry (**** explained above) It’s a little embarressing. For a scot living in France, Stuart knows his football. In fact, he did better than anyone in my work football group. Here’s my picks ordered from least confidence to most. Real winners are bold. Bold are picks that I had right. Italics are ones that I was wrong. ...

Football Picking

I know it’s late notice, but I just got turned on to Yahoo’s Football Pick’em page (like what I did last year, but automated, so scrap that idea). Anyway, I expect all of you to join and participate especially Henry (that’s two mentions), Dana, and Katie. The group has 50 slots, so if it comes to that, it’ll be first come, first serve. You need a Yahoo! id and enough time to pick teams to win (no spread) and assign confidence (1 – 16). Each week’s picks have to be in 5 minutes prior to the first game of the week. The Patriots are playing tonight, so you’ll need to enter your choices before then. ...

Red Sox Game Three

I’m sure this will piss off a few people (and already has some others), but I saw my third Red Sox game of the season this past Tuesday night. And this is after the World Series I said that it would be impossible for me to see even a single game. But I digress. Anyway, Allison invited me to go with her as part of a package deal that her mother had access to. The package was a bus ride into Boston, as much beer as you could drink, a sandwich, and a ticket to the game. Not that bad. ...

Batting 1,000

Time for me to brag a little. During my softball game on Tuesday night, I got on base every time I came to bat. I’m not talking about just one or two at-bats. I was up four times. One was a triple with two or three RBIs. Of course, my fielding is still weak-ass, but I’ll sweep that under the rug.

My Second Red Sox Game

I wasn’t expecting to go to even a single game this year and now I’ve gone to two. I saw the first game of the double header against the Seattle Mariners today with my father. I know it was Mother’s Day. Hush. The game was supposed to be last night but it got rained out. Also, dad was the one that got the tickets, so taking them a second time to see a game with someone else didn’t seem appropriate. ...

First Red Sox Game of the Season

I got a chance to go to a Red Sox game last night with my Sox buddy, Dana. We even spanked the Devilrays 10-0. I wasn’t expecting to get to go this year, so it was great to go so early in the season. If Raytheon has another group Red Sox trip like they did last year, I may go again.

The Patriots are Officially a Dynasty

Hurrah for the Pats! I managed to survive the Superbowl party I went to. I even posted up some pictures. No pictures of me, for those of you curious. At any rate, it was a great time and a pretty good game (from what I can remember). Now where’s Freddie Mitchell’s big mouth?

Football Picks Superbowl

There is only one possibility for a Superbowl win. The Patriots will beat the Philadelphia Eagles. The Pats will soon join the ranks of other great teams like the Cowboys in the 90s. Go Pats!

Football Picks Playoffs Week 3

Seeing as there are only two games next week, I think I can pick them now. New England vs. Pittsburgh Atlanta vs. Philadelphia Atlanta looked really strong and I think their run game may destroy the Eagles. Pittsburgh simply didn’t look that good against the Jets (who would have won save for two missed kicks).
